1968 - 1971

Speak Their Names

Headquarters & Headquarters Company suffered their first soldier killed in action on March 18, 1968. The final loss of life for the company occurred on March 26, 1971.

This gallery is dedicated to the Headquarters & Headquarters Company soldiers who did not make it home. They will not be forgotten.

Medic

Assigned to Alpha Company

Cantu, Roy

Roy Cantu served as a HHC Medic and was assigned to Alpha Company. He deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. Roy survived his tour and returned stateside in late 1968.

Diaz, Ray

Ray Diaz served as a HHC Medic and was assigned to Delta Company. He deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. Ray survived his tour and returned stateside in late 1968.

3rd Brigade

Public Information Office

Van Alstine, Earl

SGT Earl Van Alstine served as a combat photographer with the 3rd Brigade Public Information Office. He deployed with 3rd Brigade in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. Although Earl survived his tour, he has since passed away. His photos are courtesy of his daughter, Yolanda Van Alstine.
